Thanks to those parents who came in to Mr Lawrence’s coffee morning about e-safety. A difficult topic, but such an important one for us all to understand.
Well done to Lailee and Harri-Nicole who won the ‘considerate parking’ poster competition – and have had their designs turned into professional signs. Now please park considerately or we will set Year 3 on you!
FS1 have been using the outdoor classroom for their forest school sessions while the new nursery is being built. Today they started off by writing letters in the air with sticks. Thank goodness their birdie friends were there to help them!
Our Governors come into school regularly to observe and monitor what we are doing. This morning, a group of governors came in to look at inclusion through our school. Inclusion is about how we try to remove barriers to learning and support all children to achieve their full potential. Governors visited classrooms and spoke with children about what helps them to learn, and a group of children gave a special presentation about what inclusion has meant for them. It was a really useful morning for everyone.
FS1 Elmer went on a school trip to the Eltham Environmental Centre. The children had an amazing time, going on a bear hunt. Barney, the trip leader, took them through long wavy grass, a deep dark forest, a deep cold river, and a swirling whirling snow storm. They found a very friendly bear too, and he gave them all a hug! In the afternoon, they made a bear collage using natural materials. All the children were amazing, well done everyone! Also, a big thank you to all the parents who came along and helped out.
