Learning walk
A quick learning walk around the school this afternoon shows the wide variety of activities and learning that is taking place. We have Year 1 programming beebots and solving puzzles, FS2 getting active and making their hearts beat faster, music scales and story writing in Year 3, rugby, dance, creating a Gruffalo house using Lego, close observational drawing and a ‘drop-everything-and-read’ session. Wonderful kids, wonderful adults
Parent reading meeting in FS2
Thanks to the parents and carers who came along to this morning’s meeting with Mr Shilton to find out more about reading and phonics in FS2. The best thing that any parent can do to support their child’s learning is to share books with them for enjoyment. Read with them and to them whenever you can – we promise it’s worth the effort.
one of our favourite times of the day. Thanks to Emma and her great team for keeping us so well fed.
Introducing Ferdi Class
Introducing Ferdi Class!! What used to be our FS1 classroom has now been converted into a really exciting class which has been named Ferdi. Miss Evans and Miss Hogger have organised the room to support children each morning with intensive English and Mathematics, and Mrs Plume and Teresa will be supporting different children in the afternoon through Nurture. We are so excited about the potential that this new provision is going to bring to our school and we will of course keep you updated as it develops.

Pearly Princess of Woolwich
A HUGE thank you to our very own Pearly Princess of Woolwich (Miss Bennett), her Pearly King Daddio (Clive) and the naughtiest Chelsea Pensioner we’ve ever met (Dave) for agreeing to cut the ribbon on our new Nursery. We can’t imagine a better start to this new era for our youngest children. LOVE IT!!
Chinese students
We’re really excited today as we have welcomed 26 Chinese students in to school from Donghai Primary School in China. They are going to spend the next 5 days with us as they want to learn all about what it is like to go to school in England. As always, our children have embraced and welcomed them warmly. We love making new friends and we’re excited to learn more about our similarities and our differences. Fun!
Cultural Day
China, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Kenya, Nigeria….. we are travelling all around the world today and learning a little bit about other cultures. Our children and families speak more than 24 different languages and it’s really fun learning what makes us different and what makes us the same. Thanks to the parents and grandparents who came to tell us about their cultures and traditions and who supported staff to plan a really fun-packed day.
