Lunchtime quote of the day from Matas – “This school knows how to make lunch!” He was a hungry boy!

we have welcomed 26 trainee teachers from the University of Greenwich into school to consider ways to ‘make learning memorable.’ Mr Drury will be looking after them this afternoon – and this morning they are having a great experience in the Lego Innovation Studio with Mr Lawrence. Happily, our pupils are also on hand to help them out!

Miss Turner came along to this morning’s governor meeting to talk about the Daily Mile and why they think it is having a positive impact. The children in Chimwala say that the Daily Mile helps them to ‘clear their minds’ and they like supporting each other to improve on their scores.

We are very proud today after receiving this letter from the MP Nick Gibb, congratulating us for our school results last year. “Your school’s results… show that your school is amongst the top 3% of schools in England in terms of the progress your pupils make…” Well done to all the staff for this great achievement!

Don’t forget that next Friday all the children are invited to dress up for World Book Day. Who is your favourite book character?? The staff are already plotting and planning their costumes.

This year we are supporting Comic Relief. Red Noses will be available from the school office and we shall be celebrating by doing something different on the day. Look out on our Newsletters and the website for further details. For more information please follow the link http://www.comicrelief.com/red-nose-day. Put the 24th March 2017 in your diary!!!!

Thanks to the parents who came along to this morning’s coffee morning. This week we talked about e-safety and what we can do to keep our children safe online.
