On Friday mornings the school is eerily quiet! That’s because many classes are enjoying their ‘Big Write’ sessions – quiet time when they completely focus on their writing. You can see the concentration on their faces!
Mr Shilton has organised for a bird box to be erected at school with a hidden webcam inside. We’ll be keeping an eye on it and fingers crossed it will eventually make a home for a new Middle Park feathered family. We’ll keep you posted!
Thanks to the parents who came along to this morning’s coffee morning. The session this morning was run by John Hogan and staff from the ASD Outreach Team. It was really interesting to learn more about autism and all its complexities.
Key Stage 1 are trying hard to improve their active listening skills. They have appointed some special ear monitors to spot children who are listening well in class and in assembly. We are taking our roles VERY seriously!
One of our new year resolutions is to all try to be more active… more often. Mrs Lewis has been working with our fabulous Play Leaders and they are working hard to get all the younger children more active at lunchtimes.
Today we have welcomed the Cat’s Grin Theatre Company into school to entertain the children. This morning the juniors enjoyed Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and this afternoon FS2 and the infants are having fun with Two Tales for Christmas.
A big well done to the children in Year 1 Anansi who went to the Community Centre today to sing for our pensioner friends who were having their Christmas lunch. The children sang beautifully and it gave everybody something to smile about.
