Lovely feels in school this morning. We have lots of reading flooding going on, more bikeability training and FS2 are enjoying their first PE lesson with Billy. Happy kids… happy grown ups.
Phonics crazy and we’re straight back into things. Look out for a letter coming home tonight about the younger children bringing their targeted books home with them from this week. We have heavily invested in books this year and we need YOUR HELP to make sure they are being looked after and returned. More info on the letter
This year we applied to become an ADHD friendly school. Our learners with ADHD worked together to learn more about themselves and each other and became Ambassadors in school. They delivered assemblies to help us to better understand them and thought about what helps them to learn and focus.
Most importantly, they celebrated the many strengths that come with ADHD and they grew in confidence and self-esteem. Well done everyone.
Year 2 have been learning about the art of Herve Tullet who used art to create new art. This afternoon we made our first pieces and then next week we will be ripping them up to make new works of art. It’s a very happy and colourful way to spend an afternoon!
Thanks to Emma for giving parents the opportunity to taste some of the options from our catering offer after school this week. Remember that from September 2023, ALL children at Middle Park will be entitled to a free school meal.
What a fun and happy day for Year 2 at Howletts Zoo. We were very pleased that the weather cooled down as we had lots of walking to do. The children were their curious selves and loved each and every animal. The elephants and gorillas were real highlights and we saw a lion and tigers!
Can you even imagine how Mrs Adams feels today, knowing that these two wonderful pupils have completed the Race for Life with her name on their backs??
On this super-hot Sunday, thousands of people have made their way to Blackheath to show their support for all those people affected by cancer. It means the absolute world.
