We’re really happy to have welcomed Gemma from ‘Learning through Landscapes’ into school today as we start to work towards a redesign of our school playgrounds. Gemma is meeting with staff, children, parents, carers and governors and is going to help to pull all our ideas together so we can enhance our play and outdoor learning. Learning through Landscapes
A fantastic turnout for our adult English classes this morning with parent governor, Sabrina. Such a super group of parents/carers who are going to be able to make new contacts and improve their spoken English at all levels. This is a really exciting start to the year for us, thank you Sabrina.
It’s so good to be back with our friends, playing and learning and sharing all our news. We love being at school.
Birdwatching
We’ve really noticed a difference in our birdwatching area this week with lots of our old favourites back on the feeder. We seem to have had regular goldfinches over the last few months but suddenly we’re noticing that our blue tits, great tits and chaffinches are back on the scene. Brian has reinforced the nesting box after last year’s magpie-attack and we’re looking forward to what winter might bring.
Noticeboard UKS2
We love our new noticeboard in UKS2 that celebrates and notices all our achievements. We share some of our best learning, the small things we do for each other and what we’re grateful for. This is the ‘Best’ way to spin your life so you spend most time thinking about all the wonderful things about the world.
We are applying to become an ADHD-friendly school this year
We are applying to become an ADHD-friendly school this year. Our 15 learners with ADHD have come together to form a working group and to learn more about how their ADHD might affect them – from challenges to super-strengths! They met for the first time on Friday where they researched famous people with ADHD and what they say about it, then we created a Wordle with some of our own thoughts. We’ll share our learning with you over the year.
