Look who Ayva found trying to get into school this morning ? He was not wearing the correct school uniform so we scooped him up and sent him on his way.
Well, not quite … but Miss Evans was very brave and as stag beetles only emerge for a few weeks to find a mate, Mrs Montgomery put him safely in a quiet part of our forest school area. We hope you find love Mr Beetle.

BLUE TIT UPDATE: Well we left you on a cliffhanger and many children have been asking how our blue tit chicks have fared. The news is that we had one successful fledging and Huey is out in the world with his parents battling out this next phase of his life. Those of you who enjoy watching Springwatch will know that it has been a really tough year for blue tits for a number of reasons, including a cold, wet May and a late start to Spring. We think our little couple have done really well to send out a new blue tit into the world in 2021. What a roller coaster ride it has been!

In super-exciting news, our school has been chosen from over a hundred primary schools to nominate one pupil to be a mascot of the England team when they run out at Wembley on Sunday 13th June against Croatia in the UEFA Euros tournament. Staff nominated Hayden to represent our school. Hayden is football mad. He always puts 1000% effort into all his PE lessons and was nominated by Billy and Angie for being enthusiastic and for having amazing transferable skills. He was also nominated by Mr Lawrence for always trying his best in class, for engaging with the remote learning 100% of the time and for always being kind and friendly to everyone. We really couldn’t have selected a nicer person and we are thrilled to be able to give Hayden this opportunity. So tune in…. 13th June on BBC1 to see our little superstar running out with the England team. We can’t wait!

Chickie update- we still have three chicks who are developing, growing and resembling blue tits more each day. It’s not always an easy watch as two of them are definitely dominant and keep sitting on the third, so fingers crossed number three can hang in there and fledge when the time comes. We are going to call them Huey, Louie and Dewey. Come on Dewey !!!
