Today we said a fond farewell to Billy and wished him well on his exciting new chapter. We also warmly welcomed Ryan who will become our sports coach in school and will take over much of the PE teaching.
Year 4 Medusa have been looking at the digestive system and the children had a go at creating their own faeces. They then presented their learning to the class. As you can imagine, the children LOVED it. Eeeuw!
We are celebrating Black History Month and our children have been thinking about what it means to them to be ‘Standing Firm in Pride and Power.’ This is what some of them said:
TORRI – Me showing confidence in myself.
SCARLETT – Bring proud of who I am.
DAVID – Speaking up when something is not fair.
VICTORIA – Showing the world what I am capable of.
Empowering words from our children. The future is bright indeed!
FIRE BRIGADE – Year 2 and Year 5 enjoyed fire safety workshops this week with the London Fire Brigade. They asked lots of questions and were fully engaged with Naz. We learned a lot – thank you!
Do you love autumn?? The weather has been lovely lately and we are all enjoying the autumn light and seasonal changes. Adam the school frog had definitely grown, might this be our first year with frog spawn? The children are enjoying the play equipment at breaktime and playing happily together.
We were so excited today for another FREE book giveaway thanks to Miss Davis. In Year 3, we had to have a bit of free reading time so we could get cracking on our brand new books. Every child in the school will be taking home two books to keep.
Author visit – it was wonderful to welcome author Joshua Seijal in to school today. Joshua performed some of his poems to the children and gave us all some creative inspiration.
SCHOOL COUNCIL – Congratulations to our School Council 2025. Representatives were voted for by their peers and will be the voice of the student body this year. Congratulations everyone.
