Two great tits!!! One in each box. This time of year our little birdies start checking out the boxes ready for nesting season in a couple of months. This is the first time they have also been in to see box two. Fingers crossed for double the action this year
Year 5 are creating sculptures in the style of Alberto Giacometti. Stage one has been the design stage and the creation of their armatures. We look forward to seeing how they evolve!
Great fun at Forest School this afternoon. We made cakes and soup for wild things and we discovered wild thing foot prints! Apologies have been made to some parents for the muddy coats even though they were wearing their waterproofs
Next week we will be doing the Big Schools Garden Birdwatch (of course we will) to support the RSPB as they monitor garden birds and measure how well they are doing. Our local birdies are warming up and we have had a busy morning on the feeders with at least 8 goldfinches, 4 chaffinches, robin, blue tit, great tit and everyone’s favourite – the PIGEON. Let’s hope they’re around when we actually want them to be next week.
Year 5 have been investigating thermal insulators and conductors this week thinking about the 3 different variables- their challenge was to find the best material to keep their teacher’s drink warm!!
Well the reviews are in and Year 5 and 6 LOVED the glow-in-the-dark dodgeball sessions. It was great to get the war paint on and by the end of the hour they were all completely exhausted so hopefully they’ll sleep well tonight! Many thanks to Julie for giving us such a brilliant day and well done to the children for being such fun as always.
