Our assemblies this half term are about all the subjects of the curriculum. Today, Miss Best talked about why she thinks Design and Technology is the best subject of them all. She even held a competition to see which team could design and make the most balanced packed lunch. Angie and Teresa were the judges, and the winning team were: Miss Eccleston and Eric
we had our Dyslexia Friendly verification day and the good news is that we have officially been awarded Dyslexia Friendly status. Two verifyers were in school all day where they observed two lessons and several interventions, they met with teaching staff, support staff, children, governors and parents as well as interviewing leaders. They saw outstanding teaching, fantastic resources, a great deal of expertise and spoke with children who were proud to be dyslexic and could talk confidently about the way that they learn and how they are supported in school. It was a fantastic team effort and we are all very proud. And the message that came through strongest from children, staff and parents?? Miss Evans is AMAZING!! And so say all of us. Well done everyone.
The Big Pedal is the UK’s largest cycling and scooter event. It aims to get as many children using sustainable transport over a short period. Over 1000 schools have signed up for this event and we are one of them. We are having our Big Pedal Day on 29.4.16. Please encourage your child/ren to either cycle or scooter to school on this day. We shall have a hands up poll and our information will be measured against other schools. We may win a prize!!!! For further information check out the website. http://bigpedal.org.uk/
We were really happy this week to learn that we had once again received two Educational Outcome Awards following our 2015 achievements. The awards acknowledge that we are in the top 10% of schools nationally for the progress that our children make in Reading, Writing and Maths. This is a testament to all the staff and children who work so hard to secure the best possible outcomes. Well done Middle Park!
