Year 5 Matilda are very excited to announce the arrival of their new classmate, a russian hamster named Nikita. Nikita is settling in very well and enjoying getting to know the children. Latest news is that he loves banana chips but has yet to attempt his wheel. (Unless he does that when we’re all at home in bed.) Nikita is a HIT!!

Congratulations to our fabulous cook VICKY who has made it to the final three in the 2015 ‘Catering Manager of the Year’ award. She finds out in October where she will come while tucking into a five course meal at the Dorchester. I say!! We love her at Middle Park. Good luck Vicky!!
Yr 6 Southend Trip

As Year 6 enter their final few days of primary school, yesterday they headed off to Southend to celebrate all the hard work and the good times they have had this year and during their time at Middle Park. They had a fun-packed day which they all really enjoyed. A fitting send off!! We’ll miss you little beauties!
McDougalls Junior Baking Competition

The children took part in the first ever McDougalls Junior Baking Competition. From over 100 entries nationally, they made it through to the final five and the Grand Final and travelled up to Birmingham to compete. In front of a huge audience they cut, piped, mixed and created mini Victoria sponges that looked spectacular. Judges spent a lot of time at their stand, taste-testing their work. The kids did fantastically well to get through to the final stages of this competition and they made us all very proud.
A huge thank you to Vicky our School Chef for getting our mini chefs organised and trained up.
This week, both Year 5 classes will be visiting the Tower of London. Matilda are having a great time there today, trying on pieces of armour and learning how we use primary sources to find out about people in history.
