This week we welcomed a professional photographer into school to capture our lovely children in action. The photographs will be used in our new prospectus, in large prints throughout the school and on the school website. We can’t wait to see the end results – Well done to all the children for being so gorgeous!

Community Arts Project

FS2 Gruffalo & Tango had a fantastic opportunity this term to work with a professional artist, Emmanuelle Camus. They took part in a Community Arts Project, along with Vista Fields Children’s Centre. The project took place over 3 days, where the children helped to create wind chimes and stunning ceramic garden accessories. Their fabulous creations are on display outside, at the front of Vista Fields Children’s Centre. Go and have a look! There will also be a public exhibition of the children’s work, along with the other schools that took part, at the Royal Naval College in Greenwich during the month of August.

E-Safety

The children in Years 5 and 6 have been thinking about e-safety and how important it is to be cautious online. This video showed them some of the many issues to be mindful of. Please keep talking to your children and monitor their internet use carefully.

Foundation Stage Parent Activity Morning

On Friday the Foundation Stage held a Parent Activity Morning. The theme was ‘Being Healthy’. The children had great fun learning about what food and drink is good for them, and they got lots of exercise outside in the sunshine playing hockey & basketball. Elmer made delicious fruit kebabs, Gruffalo were juicing and making tasty pizzas with healthy toppings and Tango went Wii fit crazy… A big thank you to all the parents and carers who came along to join us!

FINA/NVC Diving World Series

FINA/NVC Diving World Series – a group of 8 children from our swimming booster group in Year 5 have been lucky enough today to go up to the Aquatic Centre in the Olympic Park to watch the Fina Diving World Series. They are in there as we speak cheering on Tom Daley. We can’t wait to hear all about it!!

University-Challenge

Well done to our superstar mathematicians who travelled up to City Hall today for a maths competition. The questions were University-Challenge-hardcore (!!!) but they did not give up or despair – the resilience kicked in and they tackled the problems set. Well done super team!!!!

Romeo and Juliet

Year 3 are having a great day today! As well as the Genki theatre group who are working their socks off to put together their ‘play-in-a-day,’ children have been making puppets, designing Romeo and Juliet murals and even making Verona cakes!! Well done Year 3.

30 children in Year 5 had a brilliant day on Monday when a professional drama group came in to work with them to produce a play about The Victorians. The content was very challenging and it was an intense day which the children really enjoyed. The final performance was exceptionally good – well done Year 5!
